Nashville, TN – Oklahoma HOSA (Health Occupations Students of america) made a significant impact at the recent International Leadership Conference, with over 290 members participating and achieving 46 competitive event placements. The conference,which hosted more than 13,000 students from middle school through postsecondary levels,saw Oklahoma students bring home a total of 22 gold,11 silver,and 12 bronze medals across various team and individual events.

Francis Tuttle Technology Center Teams Dominate Anatomage Competition

Two teams from Francis Tuttle Technology Center distinguished themselves in the Anatomage competition. “peters Puppies” secured first place, with each member receiving a $200 prize. “Dim Sum Dynasty” also achieved a notable eighth-place finish.The Anatomage Table is the world’s first virtual dissection table, allowing students to explore anatomy in an interactive and engaging way, enhancing their understanding of the human body [2].

Amy Warner,Oklahoma HOSA state adviser,emphasized the organization’s importance in shaping future healthcare professionals. “Our experiences at the HOSA International Leadership Conference reaffirm what we’ve always known: HOSA isn’t just a student organization; it’s a critical pipeline into the health care workforce,” Warner stated.”From competing on the international stage to connecting with global health leaders,our Oklahoma students left inspired,empowered and more prepared than ever to meet the needs of our communities.”
