Banker Koen van Heest Open about hair transplant: ‘Want to break Taboos’

Banker **Koen van Heest** Reveals Hair Transplant to Break Taboos

YouTube Star Opens Up About Confidence Boost After Procedure

A growing number of men are opting for hair restoration, and **Koen van Heest**, a popular financial content creator, is adding his voice to the conversation by publicly discussing his recent hair transplant. He hopes his openness will encourage others to address hair loss without shame.

Facing Insecurity

**Van Heest** explained that he felt compelled to conceal thinning hair, a struggle that became increasingly frustrating. “That made me crazy,” he stated, describing the constant effort to cover up areas of his scalp. He ultimately decided a hair transplant was the best solution.

Four months post-procedure, and sporting a shaved head, **Van Heest** reports a significant increase in self-assurance. He is “very happy” with his new hairline and eager to share his experience.

According to the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS), over 397,000 hair restoration surgeries were performed worldwide in 2023, a 17% increase from the previous year. (ISHRS 2023 Statistics)

Addressing Bullying and Support

**Van Heest** shared that his peers previously used his hair loss as a source of ridicule. “They had hoped that I would be bald ugly, but with the result they can’t bully me,” he said. His girlfriend, **Roxy Dekker**, is also supportive of his decision and anticipates a positive outcome.

Dekker expressed her enthusiasm in a video, stating her affection for **Van Heest** regardless of his hairstyle.

Breaking the Stigma

**Van Heest**’s primary motivation for going public is to dismantle the stigma surrounding hair transplants. He wants young men to feel comfortable exploring options to address hair loss without feeling embarrassed. “The reason for me that I am here now is that I want to show young men that they don’t have to be ashamed of a transplant.” He found the entire process to be far less daunting than he initially anticipated.

He reports that his initial anxieties have completely dissipated, leaving him feeling confident and liberated. His story aims to normalize a procedure that can significantly improve self-esteem and quality of life.
