Identified in 2014, at that time H1821+643 was considered the most supermassive black hole. This supergiant has the same mass as NGC 6166, which is more than 30 billion solar masses.

Called a quasar, this black hole is located in the constellation Draco at a distance of just over 10.4 Gly (Giga-Light Year). The unique thing about this big hole is that if it were in place of the Sun, the diameter of this Schwarzschild black hole would extend into the orbit of Pluto.
