NY. The organization of non-traditional jobs for women (NEW), celebrates its 45th anniversary this year, and on May 18 it will hold a luncheon to recognize the leaders in that industry who have fought for equal employment for women.
NEW, is an organization that prepares, trains and places women in construction trades, public services and maintenance, jobs traditionally held by men.
NEW’s mission, it says on its website, is to help women achieve economic independence and a secure future for themselves and their families. At the same time, NEW provides a pool of skilled female workers for the industries that build, move, feed, green and sustain New York.
“In the last ten years, NEW has placed women in over 3,000 careers in the industry.” ensures the entity.
