Oslo, Norway – July 10, 2025 – Actress Rachel Brosnahan recently
expressed her amusement regarding a deviation from established tradition by
her colleague, David Corenswet, during the production of the upcoming
“Superman” film.

Brosnahan, known for her role in the acclaimed series “The Marvelous Mrs.
Maisel,” shared her observations during an interview, noting Corenswet’s
choice to forgo a long-held custom associated with portraying the iconic
superhero. The specific tradition involves actors maintaining a certain
physical appearance throughout the filming process.

Corenswet, who assumes the mantle of Superman in the new film directed by
James Gunn, reportedly opted to shave his body hair during the shoot, a
departure from the practise of previous actors who maintained their natural
body hair for continuity purposes. This decision, Brosnahan indicated,
prompted a lighthearted reaction from her.

The new “Superman” film,officially titled “superman,” is slated for release
on July 11,2025,in the United States. The film represents a reboot of the
Superman franchise and is part of the first DC Universe (DCU) spearheaded
by James Gunn and Peter Safran. The cast includes Nicholas hoult as Lex
Luthor and Milly Alcock as Lois Lane, alongside Corenswet.

The decision to reboot Superman follows a period of fluctuating performance
for DC films, and Gunn’s appointment as co-CEO of DC Studios signaled a
commitment to a cohesive and interconnected cinematic universe. The
production took place primarily in Cleveland, Ohio, and Atlanta, Georgia,
with principal photography concluding in March 2025.

Brosnahan’s comment offers a glimpse into the atmosphere on set and the
evolving approach to portraying established characters in modern superhero
films. The film’s release is anticipated to be a significant event for
fans of the DC Universe and a key indicator of the success of
