Taiwanese Players to Get First Access to the “Singhua Renke 2077” Board Game

A new tabletop adaptation of the popular video game “Cyberpunk 2077” is arriving in Traditional Chinese. The board game, based on the world of “Dianzhu 2077,” has drawn international attention and is expected to begin shipping in December 2025. Taiwanese fans have a special opportunity to get their hands on this release.

Traditional Chinese Version on the Horizon

The traditional Chinese version of the board game is planned for release. The team at Yayoi’s Board Game Diary is managing the release, which is set to launch in June 2025. This version is a collaboration with CD PROJEKT RED, designed to capture the video game’s aesthetic with detailed map sections.

This board game is adapted from the 1988 RPG “Cyberpunk 2020”. The original game, “Cyberpunk 2077” was released in 2020 by Polish game studio CD Projekt Red. In this game, players take on the role of a mercenary named V. They explore the vast Night City, taking on missions and upgrading their gear.

The game is suitable for one to four players aged 16 and older, with each round lasting around 1 to 1.5 hours. The gameplay requires tactical thinking and resource management within a turn-based system. Board games have seen an increase in popularity in recent years, with the global market valued at $14.8 billion in 2023 (Statista).

Fundraising and Special Offers

During the Early Bird period, backers will receive a “Mantis Knife V” expansion. Sponsors who choose the “Game All-IN” or “All-in Set of ALL-IN” plan, the top 150 will also get a box of “Soul Envoy: Ascension”. However, the fundraising page notes that since the game is still in development, there could be production challenges. If the minimum production target is not met, backers may get a refund or the chance to change their sponsored version.
