Ukraine‘s Presidential Chief of Staff Resigns Following Office Search
Kyiv, Ukraine – Andriy Yermak, Head of the Office of the President of ukraine, has resigned following a search of his office conducted by anti-corruption authorities. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the resignation on his official account,praising Yermak’s dedication to Ukraine’s negotiating position. “Andriy represented Ukraine’s position as it should always be during the negotiation process. This attitude was always a patriotic stance,” Zelenskyy stated. The President indicated consultations to determine a replacement will begin tomorrow.
The resignation comes after Ukraine’s National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) announced a search of the presidential office earlier today as part of an ongoing inquiry. The Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAP) carried out the search. Yermak’s resignation marks a significant advancement within the Ukrainian government as it continues to navigate the ongoing conflict with Russia and pursue diplomatic solutions.
Yermak recently participated in peace talks with the United States in Switzerland on November 23, following the presentation of a peace plan by the Donald Trump administration aimed at ending the Russia-Ukraine war.Representing Ukraine at the meeting, Yermak engaged with U.S.Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
