Sana’a, Yemen ‍ – Yemen’s National Meteorological​ and Early Warning Center is issuing⁣ urgent‍ advisories as the nation prepares for a period of intense‍ heat, localized thunderstorms, and rough seas. ⁣Forecasts indicate high⁣ temperatures across desert⁣ regions, potential⁤ flash flooding in mountainous areas, and turbulent conditions along⁣ the southern and eastern coasts, especially ⁢around the‍ Socotra archipelago, the Gulf⁢ of Aden, and extending to the ⁣southern and eastern coasts.

The meteorological ⁢center​ warns ‍that daytime temperatures in desert areas will ‌soar between​ 40 and 46 degrees Celsius, accompanied by moderate‍ to ‍strong north to northeasterly winds capable of‍ stirring up dust and sandstorms. concurrently, several governorates – including West Al-Jouf, Rima, sana’a, Al-Mahwit, Hajjah,‍ Imran, and the Heights of ⁣Lahj – are expected ​to experience afternoon and evening thunderstorms. Coastal areas ⁣will be​ hot, humid, and ‍relatively dusty, with a possibility of light ​rainfall along the eastern and southern⁤ stretches.

The center’s warnings specifically target seafarers, fishermen, and⁣ shipbuilders,​ cautioning them about‍ the anticipated sea turmoil and ⁣significant wave​ heights. residents in desert and coastal plains are advised‌ to stay hydrated and avoid prolonged exposure to ‌direct sunlight during peak hours. Mountainous communities are urged to ​seek shelter during thunderstorms and remain vigilant for ‍potential flash ​floods and torrents. Drivers are ​cautioned ‌against attempting to cross ground bridges⁣ during ⁤and after rainfall⁤ events.‍
