Xiaomi has officially launched its latest smartwatch, the Watch 5, in Europe, priced at €299. The device, which debuted in China in December, marks the company’s first Wear OS device to feature Google’s Gemini AI assistant.
The Xiaomi Watch 5 boasts a 1.54-inch AMOLED display protected by sapphire glass, housed within a 47mm stainless steel case. Weighing 56 grams without the strap, the watch is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 SoC, paired with the BES2800 low-power chip for efficient operation. It includes 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage.
A key feature of the Watch 5 is its substantial 930mAh battery, representing a 43% increase in capacity compared to the OnePlus Watch 3’s 648mAh battery. Xiaomi claims the device can achieve up to six days of battery life in typical use, a significant advancement for Wear OS smartwatches.
Connectivity options include 2.4 GHz WiFi, Bluetooth 5.4, and dual-band GNSS. The watch also incorporates a suite of sensors, including a heart rate monitor, accelerometer, gyroscope, ambient light sensor, compass, altimeter, and EMG sensor.
The Xiaomi Watch 5 runs Wear OS 6 and comes pre-installed with Google apps such as the Play Store, Calendar, and Maps, optimized for the smartwatch experience. The device features a rotating crown for navigation and a dedicated workout button.
Available in black and juniper green with a fluorelastomer armband, the Xiaomi Watch 5 is now available for purchase through Mi.com.
