Barcelona – Xiaomi unveiled a broad range of new devices at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2026, signaling a significant expansion of its ecosystem. The company launched its flagship Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Ultra smartphones, alongside the Xiaomi Watch 5 smartwatch, Redmi Buds 8 Pro earbuds, and, for the first time, a direct competitor to Apple’s AirTag, the Xiaomi Tag.
The Xiaomi Tag, a white, puck-shaped tracker, distinguishes itself from rivals by offering compatibility with Apple’s Identify My network, allowing iPhone users to locate items attached to the tag alongside their own Apple devices. While it lacks Apple’s Precision Tracking feature, initial testing confirms its functionality within the Find My ecosystem, positioning it as a viable alternative to the AirTag.
The Xiaomi Watch 5, initially released in China in December 2025, is now available globally. The smartwatch features a 1.54-inch AMOLED display encased in a stainless steel frame, powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 chip and a 930mAh battery. It runs Xiaomi’s HyperOS 3 and includes health tracking features such as an EMG sensor and an ECG heart rate sensor. This model represents an upgrade from the 2024 Watch S4, boasting a larger display and significantly increased battery capacity.
Complementing the new smartphone and smartwatch releases, Xiaomi also introduced the Redmi Buds 8 Pro earbuds. These earbuds offer hi-res audio support, active noise cancellation, and up to 36 hours of battery life. They also incorporate a noise reduction system designed to enhance call clarity even in noisy environments, with the ability to reduce up to 95dB of external noise, and are IP54 dust and water resistant.
The Xiaomi 17, positioned as a competitor to non-Pro iPhone models, features a 6.3-inch, 120Hz OLED display, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, 12GB of RAM, and a 6,330mAh battery supporting 100W quick charging and 50W wireless charging. A Leica-branded triple camera system on the rear comprises three 50-megapixel sensors: a main camera, a telephoto lens, and an ultra-wide lens. A 50-megapixel selfie camera is integrated into the display.
The higher-end Xiaomi 17 Ultra, co-branded with camera maker Leica, boasts a 200-megapixel telephoto camera with a variable focal length of 75mm-100mm, allowing for optical zoom between 3.2x, and 4.3x. It also includes a 50-megapixel main sensor with an F/1.67 aperture and a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera. The 17 Ultra features a 6,000mAh battery (6,800mAh in the Chinese version) and supports 90W USB PD-PPS charging and 50W wireless charging. The device incorporates a 6.9-inch Xiaomi HyperRGB OLED display protected by Xiaomi’s Shield Glass 3.0 and a rotating ring designed to mimic the feel of a physical camera’s zoom function. A special Leica edition of the 17 Ultra features a durable aluminum-alloy body with a nickel-anodized finish and Leica-themed software filters recreating the aesthetic of Leica M9 and M3 cameras.
Xiaomi also unveiled an ultra-thin, magnetic power bank designed specifically for the Xiaomi 17, utilizing wireless charging. However, due to the larger camera bump on the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, the power bank is not compatible with that model.
