Xiaomi 17 series Surpasses 1 Million Units Sold in First Week, Challenging iPhone 17
JAKARTA, Indonesia – Xiaomi’s newly released Xiaomi 17 series has achieved a sales milestone of over 1 million units in China within just one week of its launch, signaling strong consumer demand and positioning the devices as potential competitors to Apple’s forthcoming iPhone 17. The rapid sales figures prompted Xiaomi to increase production to meet the growing interest.
The Xiaomi 17, 17 Pro, and 17 Pro Max-unveiled in China late last month-are powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SOC and boast upgraded camera systems. the Pro Max variant distinguishes itself wiht a ample 7,500 mAh battery, while the standard Xiaomi 17 features a 7,000 mAh SI/C battery and a triple-lens rear camera setup. This launch is meaningful as it demonstrates Xiaomi’s increasing market share and ability to quickly capitalize on new technology, potentially disrupting the premium smartphone market currently dominated by Apple.
According to Xiaomi President Lu Weibing, the Xiaomi 17 series reached the 1 million unit mark faster than the previous generation, indicating a heightened level of consumer enthusiasm. “The xiaomi 17 line had sold more than 1 million units since its launch,” weibing stated.
Both the Xiaomi 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max incorporate a secondary screen on the rear of the device, adding a unique feature set. Industry analysts suggest the Xiaomi 17 series is designed to rival the anticipated features and sophistication of the iPhone 17, though a direct comparison remains limited until Apple officially releases details of its next flagship phone.
