Is Xi Jinping Losing Grip on Power? Signs of Shifting Tides in China
recent speculation suggests that Chinese President Xi Jinping may be facing challenges to his authority within the Communist Party of china (CCP). Rumors have surfaced indicating a potential decline in his military and party power, even hinting at the possibility of his removal from office. Several recent developments lend credence to these claims.
Echoes of the Past: Hu Jintao’s Influence Resurfaces
On May 19,state-controlled media outlets, including People’s Daily and Xinhua News Agency, prominently featured past directives from former President Hu Jintao. These articles emphasized the importance of we must adhere to scientific decision-making, democratic decision-making, and law-based decision-making.
Economist and commentator Su Xiaohe interpreted this as a significant signal. The official media suddenly published Hu Jintao’s crucial instructions many years ago, and it was obvious that it was not simple at first glance. Hu Jintao has retired and is still taking out this thing. There is no doubt that Hu jintao has ‘come back’.
Su xiaohe further suggested that Hu Jintao may be playing a central role among current CCP leaders.
According to Su Xiaohe, the emphasis on scientific decision-making, democratic decision-making, and legal decision-making
implies a critical review of Xi jinping’s policies over the past decade during an enlarged Politburo meeting.
League Faction’s Return? Chen Yueyue’s Prominent Role
Adding to the intrigue, Chen Yueyue, Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), delivered a keynote speech at the opening ceremony of the 9th Silk Road International Expo on May 21.
Political commentator Chen Pokong noted this event as a potential shift in power dynamics. He stated, After the 20th National Congress, Xi Jinping arranged all the League faction figures, including Hu Chunhua, Chen Yueyue, wang Dongming, etc. to the CPPCC and the National People’s Congress to sit on the bench. This time, Chen Yueyue broke the convention. Chen Yueyue’s rise was a manifestation of the return of the League faction.
Diplomatic U-Turn: China Condemns Hamas
in a surprising move, the CCP’s diplomatic stance appears to have undergone a significant transformation. Xiao Jun, the Chinese ambassador to Israel, stated in an interview with ILTV News: Hamas’ atrocities are inhumane, unforgivable and outrageous. It is indeed very clear that China (the chinese Communist Party) opposes and condemns Hamas’ actions on October 7.
This marks a departure from the CCP’s previous reluctance to publicly condemn Hamas.
Tang Jingyuan, a political commentator, offered three possible explanations for this abrupt shift:
- The CCP recognizes Hamas’s weakening position.
- Xi Jinping’s authority has diminished, leading to the abandonment of his policies.
- A combination of both factors.
Whispers of Transition: The “Three elderly People” Scenario
Earlier this year, in February, commentator Cai Shenkun shared facts from a friend suggesting that Xi Jinping no longer has any real power, and the three elderly people born in 1942 who were elected by the CCP will make a transition; 2. Military power is in the hands of Zhang Youxia, and Xi’s Chairman of the Military Commission is just named, ‘xi Jinping’s abdication is only waiting for the official declaration, and it is likely to be in the Fourth Plenary Session of the 1942-19 1998-1999.
Cai Shenkun later identified these individuals as Hu Jintao, Wen jiabao, and Hu Deping.
A “Far Ahead Prophecy”?
The public removal of Hu Jintao from the 20th National Congress was widely interpreted as a consolidation of power by Xi Jinping. However, recent events suggest that the rumors of Xi Jinping’s potential downfall may not be entirely unfounded.
