Xbox Prices Increase Again in the United States
REDMOND, WA – May 9, 2024 – Microsoft has announced a second price increase for Xbox consoles in the United States within the last six months. The price hike, effective May 2025, impacts both the Xbox Series S adn Xbox Series X models, as well as other Xbox hardware.
The Xbox series S will increase from $379.99 to $399.99,while the Xbox Series X will jump from $599.99 to $649.99. Microsoft attributes the increases to “changes in the macroeconomic habitat,” a move widely believed to be linked to recently imposed US tariffs. This latest adjustment follows a price increase implemented earlier this year.
The price adjustments currently apply only to the US market, but industry analysts suggest that European consumers may also face similar increases as companies grapple with absorbing the costs of new tariffs. The move places additional financial pressure on gamers and could impact console sales as Microsoft navigates a shifting economic landscape.
