WWE SmackDown Results: Lesnar Assaults Graves, Contract Signed for Wrestlepalooza
TOLEDO, OH – In a chaotic go-home show before WWE’s first Premium Live event on ESPN, Wrestlepalooza, Brock Lesnar unleashed a brutal assault on commentary adn personnel, while Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre officially set the stage for their championship clash.
The April 26th episode of SmackDown featured a fiery promo from Lesnar ahead of his Wrestlepalooza match against John Cena, a contract signing for the WWE Championship bout, and in-ring action including a Women’s Tag Team title defense.
Lesnar interrupted a scheduled sit-down interview, instead taking his aggression to the ring. He physically threatened Michael Cole, then delivered F5s to both Cole and Corey Graves after Graves attempted to intervene. Lesnar then issued a direct challenge to Cena, yelling, “I’m coming for your blood tomorrow and that it is indeed D-Day!” before destroying a Prime Hydration station at ringside.
Later in the show, Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre formalized their Wrestlepalooza WWE Championship match with a contract signing. This followed Rhodes’ return last week, where he saved Randy Orton from a potential Claymore kick.
In other action, United States Champion Sami Zayn will face Carmelo Hayes after hayes answered Zayn’s open challenge, despite objections from Hayes’ tag team partner, The Miz. Alexa Bliss & Charlotte Flair successfully defended their WWE Women’s Tag Team titles against Chelsea Green & Alba Fyre.
