The Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) released its updated rankings on Monday, March 2nd, with Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus maintaining the number one position in women’s singles tennis. The rankings, based on points accumulated over the past 52 weeks, show a significant shift for several players, according to the WTA’s official website.
Sabalenka leads the rankings with 10,675 points, followed by Iga Swiatek of Poland (7,588 points) and Elena Rybakina of Kazakhstan (7,253 points). Coco Gauff of the United States holds the fourth position with 6,803 points, while Jessica Pegula, also from the U.S., is ranked fifth with 6,583 points.
Notably, Alexandra Eala experienced a substantial upward movement in the rankings, climbing to 16th position, while Alycia Parks saw a significant drop to 18th. Antonia Ruzic also moved up, reaching 52nd, while Anastasia Potapova fell to 12th in the WTA Race Standings.
The WTA Race Standings, a separate ranking system used to determine qualification for the WTA Finals, currently sees Elena Rybakina in the top spot with 2,443 points. Jessica Pegula is second with 1,975 points, and Aryna Sabalenka is third with 1,800 points, tied with Elina Svitolina of Ukraine. Victoria Mboko of Canada and Karolina Muchova of the Czech Republic also feature prominently in the Race to the WTA Finals, holding fifth and sixth positions respectively.
The rankings reflect recent tournament results and points distribution, with players vying for position as the season progresses. The WTA Finals, featuring the top players of the year, are scheduled to capture place later in 2026.
