Food Network’s Worst Cooks in America is back for its 30th season, dubbed Reality Check, with a cast of ten celebrities hoping to trade their familiar spotlights for culinary skills. Teh new season premieres Sunday, January 4 at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
This year’s recruits include The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City‘s Lisa Barlow, MTV VJ Downtown Julie Brown, Dancing with the Stars‘ Val Chmerkovskiy, shahs of Sunset and The Valley: Persian Style‘s Reza Farahan, love & Hip Hop: Miami and Univision’s Unequal star Amara La Negra, Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte, RuPaul’s Drag Race‘s Manila Luzon, rapper/actor Romeo Miller, 7th Heaven‘s Beverley Mitchell, and The Challenge and The Traitors USA‘s CT Tambourine.
Chefs Jeff Mauro and tiffany derry will lead the teams, beginning with a baseline challenge where the celebrities showcase their current cooking abilities – or lack thereof. Subsequent challenges will focus on specific dishes, like a Piri Piri chicken, with weekly blind elimination cook-offs determining who continues.
“The kitchen is not where this season’s celebrity recruits shine – but Jeff and Tiffany are persistent to change that,” said Betsy Ayala, Head of Content, Food, Warner Bros. Discovery. “Worst Cooks is where comedy and cooking chaos collide, but in the end there are some impressive culinary transformations that will blow our audience away.”
The season culminates in a finale on Sunday, February 1st, where the final two contestants will prepare a three-course restaurant-quality meal for guest judges. The winner will receive $25,000 for their chosen charity and bragging rights for their team’s chef.
