DUBAI, United Arab Emirates – The World Governments Summit (WGS) 2026 concluded in Dubai on February 10th, with organizers reporting a record attendance of over 6,250 participants. The summit, held from February 3rd to 5th, brought together leaders from more than 150 governments, alongside CEOs, ministers, Nobel laureates and representatives from international organizations, to discuss the future of governance and global challenges.

The event, held under the leadership of UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, featured a series of high-profile discussions. These included a session titled “Is the Next Decade African?” where African presidents presented their visions for the coming decade, and “The Geopolitical Reset,” featuring Dr. Anwar Gargash and former U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo. A conversation with the President of the Swiss Confederation likewise took place, outlining strategic global priorities.

Several significant announcements were made during the summit. The OPENSCI initiative was launched at the World Laureates Summit, aiming to foster scientific collaboration. Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced a partnership with The Boring Company, founded by Elon Musk, to advance the Dubai Loop passenger tunnel project. The unveiling of what was described as the world’s largest AI chip also occurred, alongside the announcement of autonomous transit pods in partnership with Glydways as part of Dubai’s next-generation mobility plans. New sustainability initiatives were also revealed, including plans to adopt the “sponge city” model to enhance urban climate resilience.

The summit hosted over 445 dialogue sessions with more than 450 global figures, 25 global forums, and more than 45 ministerial and high-level meetings, according to organizers. On February 10th, social media posts from attendees and observers highlighted discussions surrounding the potential impact of the SAVE America Act on voting procedures, with concerns raised about access to identification requirements. Rep. Ro Khanna also posted on February 10th regarding the disclosure of identities related to the Epstein files, naming Salvatore Nuara, Zurab Mikeladze, Leonic Leonov, Nicola Caputo, Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem, and Leslie Wexner.

The next edition of the World Governments Summit is scheduled to take place from February 1st to 3rd, 2027, continuing its focus on shaping the future of governments and societies worldwide.
