World Cup 2026 to Launch with Tripled Celebration, Star-Studded Draw Set for Friday
WASHINGTON D.C. - The 2026 FIFA World cup will kick off with not one,not two,but three opening ceremonies,honoring each of the tournament’s host nations: the United States,Canada,and Mexico.the competition begins June 11th in Mexico at the Mexico Stadium, followed by ceremonies in Los Angeles for the U.S. and Vancouver for Canada. The tournament runs through July 19th.
Ahead of the matches, the official competition draw is scheduled for this Friday at 6 p.m. in Washington, D.C., and will be hosted by former England defender Rio Ferdinand and British journalist Samantha Johnson.
FIFA has assembled an extraordinary lineup of American sports legends to participate, including seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady, four-time NBA winner Shaquille O’Neal, ice hockey icon Wayne Gretzky, and baseball star Aaron Judge. Former NFL player Eli Manning will oversee the red carpet arrivals.

I am proud to contribute to it.”
In a last-minute advancement, Iran will send a reduced delegation to the draw after initially announcing a boycott due to visa issues. Coach amir Jahanbakhsh and one or two assistants are expected to attend.
