Woman ‘tested poison on dogs to get dose right before lacing victim’s stew’

by Lucas Fernandez – World Editor

A woman in brazil allegedly‍ tested poison on dogs before fatally lacing ⁣her ⁣step-father’s stew, police say. Michele Paiva da Silva, 41, and Ana Paula Veloso,‌ 38, are accused in the death of Neil Paiva,⁤ 68, who died on April 26 at the⁣ Adao Pereira Nunes Municipal Hospital. Authorities allege da Silva hired Veloso to carry out the ‌murder and attempted to cover it up ⁣by staging a separate ⁢poisoning incident.

The case has shocked authorities ⁢who⁢ discovered Veloso ⁤allegedly attempted to frame another ‌individual and ⁣had previously experimented ⁣with toxins on animals ‍to determine a lethal dosage.”Ana⁣ Paula Veloso came to our police station because of an alleged poisoned ‍cake inside a college. She planted this alleged poisoned ‍cake ‍to try to frame a third person,” the police chief stated. “Through this investigation, we concluded that Ana Paula was not the victim in this case, but⁤ rather⁣ a serial killer.”

Investigators believe Veloso initially attempted to appear as a victim ⁣herself, reporting a ‍separate poisoning attempt ⁤to deflect suspicion. however, the investigation revealed⁢ inconsistencies and ultimately led to the⁣ revelation of the alleged plot⁣ to kill Neil Paiva. Police‌ accuse Veloso of meticulously⁤ calculating the correct amount of ‍poison, reportedly using dogs as test subjects.

Neil Paiva’s body is set to be ⁢exhumed for further forensic testing as‌ the investigation continues. Both da ‌Silva and Veloso are currently in custody, facing charges related to the murder and attempted obstruction of justice. The motive for the killing remains under⁢ investigation.
