saratoga County Inventor Unveils Revolutionary Snow Rescue vehicle, Hailed as Potential Lifesaver
BALLSTON LAKE, NY – A Saratoga County inventor has developed a groundbreaking snow rescue sled, the STELLA, poised to dramatically improve emergency response in severe winter conditions. State Senator Jim Tedisco (R,C-Ballston Lake) is championing the invention, comparing creator Dan Tuller to thomas Edison for his potential impact on winter safety.
The STELLA is a towable, customizable rescue vehicle designed for extreme snowfall. Key features include linkable units, a patent-pending suspension for maneuverability, swappable skis/wheels for rapid deployment, and a full utility package encompassing safety lights, heating, power, GPS, a fire extinguisher, and a first aid kit.The cabin can accommodate up to eight people, plus a stretcher, wheelchair, and infant car seats, and is ADA compliant.
“We have the Thomas Edison of snow rescue vehicles here in the 44th Senate District wiht Dan Tuller!” Tedisco declared. “This innovative rescue apparatus was created and built right here in Saratoga County…and it’s an invention that can not only help save lives here in New York but in other areas that experience harsh winter weather.”
Built by Tuller and his team in Saratoga County, the STELLA aims to mitigate loss of life during snow-related emergencies. Senator Tedisco is urging the New York State Office of Emergency Management to review the invention for inclusion in a statewide emergency preparedness plan. Beyond New York, potential applications extend to ski resorts, military operations, and research facilities in challenging environments like Greenland and Antarctica.
The 44th Senate District, historically critically important as the site of the turning point of the American Revolution, also served as home to Thomas Edison during his years working in Schenectady. the STELLA’s development continues a legacy of innovation within the region.
