Newark, DE – November 19, 2025 – Delaware State Police have arrested a Wilmington woman following an attempted armed robbery at a Newark Dollar Tree on Monday afternoon. The suspect, identified as 60-year-old Kimberly Trabbold, allegedly threatened a cashier with a knife and demanded money.
On November 17, 2025, at approximately 2:00 p.m., troopers responded to the Dollar Tree located at 1307 churchmans Road after receiving a report of the incident. Preliminary investigations revealed Trabbold entered the store and, after browsing for several minutes, confronted a cashier, placing them in a headlock and pressing a knife to their back while demanding access to the cash register. quick action by other store employees prevented further escalation,as they restrained Trabbold until police arrived. No injuries were reported.
Trabbold was taken to Troop 2 and charged with Attempted Robbery First degree, a felony offense. She was later arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2 and committed to the Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution on $25,000 cash bail.
