The Hague – Geert Wilders, leader of the Party for Freedom (PVV),deviated from his‍ typically private‍ stance today, sharing a photo on‌ Instagram ‌with his sister during Prinsjesdag, the annual State Opening of the netherlands Parliament. the image shows the pair in matching purple⁤ attire, prompting ‌both⁣ warm reactions and expressions of concern from social media users.

Wilders rarely publicizes details of his‍ personal life. He has two sisters and one brother, and previously described himself as the “youngest, the spoiledest and ⁣by far the most difficult” child in an interview with Libelle magazine. The post, captioned‍ “My dear sister‌ is my guest all ‍day today,” offers a rare glimpse into⁢ the⁢ politician’s family life.

Social media responses ranged from supportive⁤ comments like “Very nice to see brother and sister” and “What⁢ a ‌nice woman. Hope you have a great ⁤day together,” to concerns ‌about his sister’s safety given Wilders’ controversial political position. one user wrote, “I think⁣ she’s⁣ still bravely that she’s taking a picture with you. I wouldn’t⁣ dare,” while another expressed worry about public appearances, stating, “Great fun, but⁢ sadly not without risk ‌in public. I hold my heart every time.”

The event ⁣also featured a notably shorter throne speech by King Willem-Alexander, ⁤clocking in at 1797 words – significantly less than the 2598 words delivered last year and below the average of 2152 ‌words since 2000. The shortest speech this century was in 2017 with 1667 words, while the longest occurred in 2022 with over 2800 words.

This year’s Prinsjesdag marked the first time all three⁢ of king Willem-Alexander’s daughters – Princess Amalia, Princess Alexia, and Princess Ariane – were present for the occasion, though they did not have any official duties.Princess ⁣Ariane, who ⁣turned 18 in April, attended for the first time.
