The incident occurred on February 28, 2025, at approximately 9:45 PM on Highway 92 near Waleska, Georgia.

The Incident and Investigation

According to the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, Tillman was driving a silver 2018 honda Civic when he struck Johnson, who was walking along the shoulder of Highway 92. Tillman fled the scene, leaving Johnson with critical injuries. Johnson was transported to Northside Cherokee Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. Investigators used vehicle fragments found at the scene and surveillance footage from nearby businesses to identify Tillman and the vehicle involved.A warrant was issued for his arrest, and he surrendered to authorities on March 3, 2025.
