Celebrations Continue with a Diverse Array of Events

New York City’s month-long celebration of LGBTQ+ culture is nearing its climax, featuring an exciting mix of protests, parties, and performances during the final days of June. Events are planned across the city, offering numerous ways to honor the legacy of Stonewall and advocate for a better future.

Weekend Highlights: Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Beyond

On Saturday, the Brooklyn Pride Comic Book Fair offers a space for indie LGBTQ+ creators. That evening, the (Un)Masked Ball provides a fun, geeky drag performance. The “It’s Giving Brunch” drag fundraiser in Manhattan also begins on Saturday, with proceeds going to Heritage of Pride.

Sunday features an inclusive Pride Family Day at the Intrepid Museum, which will explore the history of LGBTQ+ communities in the Navy. Wave Hill in the Bronx presents Pride Birding and a Waacking battle called Fabulosity. The evening will feature “Broadway Bares,” a performance where Broadway stars will be stripping for a cause.

On Monday, The Eagle bar is hosting Pride Week, with a variety of parties featuring top DJs. The Bryant Park outdoor movie series will feature a screening of “Kinky Boots,” a Golden Globe-nominated comedy.

Event Details and Community Impact

Tuesday’s TSQ Live welcomes back Luxx Noir London for a night of drag performances. Wednesday offers “Queerly Beloved: Pride Shorts in the Park” in Brooklyn, showcasing LGBTQ+ short films. Thursday features Nymphia Wind’s one-woman show, “Bananas?” The LadyLand Festival, headlined by Cardi B and FKA Twigs, kicks off on Friday at Under the K Bridge Park.

Youth Pride and Community Celebrations

The city’s official celebration for LGBTQ+ youth, Youth Pride 2025, will take place on Saturday, June 28, at the South Street Seaport. The event will start with the Rise Up Rally to Protect Trans Youth, followed by live music, attractions, and moments specifically designed for LGBTQ youth.
