When Mohammad Azharuddin arrives as the new awakening in Kerala cricket, we have to thank Kerala Cricket’s Vision 20–20 project. Azharuddin’s hard work in domestic competitions’ Vision Kerala and Vision 20-20’s with TC Mathew taking over the management of cricket from SK Nair.

The academy arrived in Kochi as part of Crash Kerala. Azharuddin was the star of this. Ananthanarayanan, who was the KCA secretary at the time, paid special attention to all the players here. Sreesanth and Sanju V Samson are in the Kerala team. Tinu John is the coach. Almost all the players are part of the IPL team. Therefore, the team has enough competitive experience. Kerala defeated Mumbai by eight wickets in the Saeed Mushtaq Ali Twenty20 cricket tournament. Opener Mohammad Azharuddin, who scored a quick century off 37 balls, made Kerala’s victory easy. Azharuddin was unbeaten on 137 off 54 balls with 11 sixes and 9 fours. Kerala set a target of 197 runs for the loss of two wickets in 15.1 overs and won the toss and elected to bat. Kerala lost opener Robin Uthappa (33) and captain Sanju Samson (22).

Sachin Baby remained unbeaten on 2 runs. For Mumbai, Thushar Deshpande and Mulani took one wicket each. Kerala captain Sanju Samson won the toss and elected to field. Mumbai got off to a good start with openers Bhupendra Jaiswal and Aditya Tare. They scored 88 for the first wicket. In 9.5 overs, Aditya was bowled out for 42 by Robin Uthappa off Jalaj Saxena. Jaiswal, who scored 40, was the next wicket-taker for Nitish. Captain Surya scored 38 runs. For Kerala. Jalaj Saxena and Asif took three wickets each while Nitish took one wicket.
