WhatsApp Beta Tests Profile Photo Import from Facebook and Instagram
WhatsApp is currently testing a new feature that will allow users to import their profile photos directly from their connected Facebook and instagram accounts. This functionality has been observed in the Beta WhatsApp Android update version 2.25.21.23 and is accessible to a limited number of beta testers.
Previously,WhatsApp users had limited options for updating their profile pictures. They could only take a photo directly with their camera, choose an image from their phone’s gallery, or utilize the ‘AI Image’ feature.
The new options for importing profile photos from Facebook and instagram are now visible within the application’s profile menu. These additions aim to streamline the process of personalizing user profiles.
According to reports, this feature is optional and requires users to link their whatsapp accounts to the Meta account Center. WhatsApp has emphasized that this integration will not compromise user privacy protections.
