Warner Bros. Pictures extended its winning streak at the domestic box office this weekend, as The Conjuring: Last Rites topped charts with a $83.0 million debut. The latest installment in the popular horror franchise easily outpaced competition, solidifying the studio’s dominance throughout the summer and into the fall movie season.

Beyond the top spot, the weekend saw a diverse range of films vying for audience attention. Hamilton earned $10.0 million, while Weapons added $5.4 million to its cumulative total of $143.0 million. Freakier Friday grossed $3.8 million ($87.8 million total), followed by Caught Stealing with $3.2 million ($14.9 million total).
Rounding out the top ten were The Roses ($2.8 million, $12.3 million total),The Fantastic Four: First Steps ($2.7 million, $270.1 million total), The Bad Guys 2 ($2.4 million, $77.7 million total), and Light of the World, which also debuted with $2.4 million. Superman brought in $1.0 million, reaching a total of $353.3 million.
