Residents of WarsawS Praga Południe district were startled Saturday afternoon by the prolonged sound of alarm sirens. Authorities quickly confirmed there was no actual threat to public safety, attributing the incident to a technical malfunction.
“There was a failure of the alarm system,” stated Sergeant Paweł Chmura of the Warsaw Police Headquarters in an interview with TVN24. The sirens were activated in the vicinity of International, Niekłańska, and london streets.
