A Gentle Spirit Departs

Wanda Jeanne Keepers, 80, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, surrounded by family at her home. Born Sept.26, 1944, in Galveston, Texas, to Gillam G Graham and Pauline Amanda schoolroy, Keepers is remembered for her kindness, intelligence, faith, and grace.

Early Life and Education

Keepers pursued higher education at the University of Texas,earning a bachelor’s degree in education. She then taught high school math at three schools in the Houston area.

Entrepreneurial Ventures and Philanthropy

After her children were born, Keepers transitioned to entrepreneurship, purchasing Recording Studios of america and later starting Boxes N More. Her commitment to service extended to volunteering at family Outreach and a battered women’s call center.

A Life of Many passions

keepers had diverse interests, including photography, gardening, and outdoor activities.

  • Nature: She found joy in planting flowers and tending to her garden.
  • Sports: She enjoyed snow skiing, water skiing, and playing on a women’s soccer team in Richardson, Texas.

Travel was a significant part of Keepers’ life, with explorations across Europe. A particularly meaningful experience was her baptism in the Jordan River.

One of her most cherished experiences was being baptized in the Jordan River, a profound moment that deepened her faith and connection to god.

Family Legacy

Keepers was preceded in death by her husband, Tommie Oscar Keepers, III; her parents, Gillam G and Pauline Graham; and her son, Bret Keepers.

She is survived by her sons, Christopher Keepers (Christie) and Robert Frazier (Kelli); daughters, Toni Starr, Tammy Barrett, and Barb Keepers; grandchildren, Whitney James, Kyle Keepers, Presley Lindsey (Tyler), Brandon Keepers (Diana), Brianna Keepers (Kameron Fant), Darien Frazier, Chad frazier, garrett Frazier, Grace Frazier, matthew Mitchell, and Keaton Mitchell; and several great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.

Service Details

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday,April 5,2025,at Percilla Community Church,officiated by Bro. Kenny Bush and Bro.Josh Lyndsey. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest next to her husband.

Friends are invited to visit with the family one hour prior to the service at percilla Community Church.

Pallbearers include Brandon Keepers, Kyle Keepers, Garrett Frazier, Darion Frazier, Mathew Mitchell, Chad Frazier, and Keaton Mitchell, followed by Jacob and Scott Heaven.

Funeral arrangements are under the care of Rhone Funeral Home.
