Radhakrishnan pledged ​to dedicate his tenure to furthering the nation’s progress and advancement following his win over opposition candidate Margaret Alva.

The vice President’s role is constitutionally mandated to ⁣act as⁤ President in the latter’s‍ absence, and also presides over the Rajya ⁣Sabha, wielding meaningful influence in legislative proceedings. ⁢Radhakrishnan’s election, a win for the ruling ‍National⁣ Democratic Alliance (NDA), underscores the current political landscape and sets the stage for continued policy initiatives.
