Vodafone Romania Opens Pre-Registrations for iPhone Duo
Vodafone România Opens Early Access Ahead of October Launch
Vodafone România has officially opened pre-registrations for the iPhone Duo, locking in a pre-order launch date of Friday, October 16 at 3:00 PM via its official Instagram account. Yet, local pricing and exact delivery dates for the Romanian market are still unconfirmed by the operator.
Dual Screens Feature Titanium Build and eSIM Connectivity
The device breaks new ground with a dual-screen setup. According to Mobilissimo, it pairs a 5.4-inch exterior OLED panel with a 7.6-inch foldable interior OLED display. Both screens feature ProMotion technology and hit a peak outdoor brightness of 3,000 nits.
Beneath the titanium build lies the Apple A20 Pro processor, backed by a vapor chamber cooling system. The hardware drops physical SIM card support entirely, relying exclusively on eSIM connectivity. Battery endurance is rated at up to 31 hours of video playback on the internal display, stretching to 44 hours on the exterior screen.
Design Reception and Asymmetric Form Factor
Aesthetics have already sparked fierce debate. It sits far behind traditional book-style foldables and heavyweights like the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8, which swept over 72% of preference votes thanks to its thin, angular design. Observers also pointed out striking resemblances between Apple’s device and previous foldable concepts from Google.

Hinge Constraints Force Physical Control Redesign
Internal engineering has also forced radical changes to physical inputs. Meanwhile, the right side is packed with the power button, a fingerprint sensor, and a dedicated camera controller.
Personalized Startup Greets Buyers Before October Release
Apple is rolling out a localized personalization program for early buyers. This greets the buyer with their own name—such as Hello, Mark
—upon initial startup, though the feature is limited to English and Spanish during the initial rollout.
While global pre-orders start on October 16 and retail availability hits initial markets on October 23, Vodafone România has kept local pricing under wraps. Even so, European pricing structures starting at 2,299 euros in Germany—roughly equivalent to 12,300 lei—give a clear picture. Industry estimates from Mobilissimo place the expected price for a 256GB model between 12,000 and 12,500 lei on the local market.
