Vivo launched its new Y05 smartphone in Malaysia and Saudi Arabia on February 24, 2026, offering a budget-friendly option with a focus on battery life and durability, according to a press release issued Wednesday.
The Y05 features a 6.74-inch LCD screen with a resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels and a refresh rate of 120Hz. The display boasts a brightness of up to 1200 nits with HBM technology, designed for clear visibility even in direct sunlight. A side-mounted fingerprint sensor is also included.
Powered by a Unisoc T7225 processor fabricated using 12nm technology, the Y05 comes standard with 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 64GB of eMMC 5.1 internal storage. The device supports an additional 4GB of virtual RAM and storage expansion up to 2TB via a microSD card.
Central to the Y05’s design is its 6500mAh BlueVolt battery, intended to provide extended usage. Vivo claims the battery supports 29.8 hours of video playback, 11.2 hours of shooting game play, 71.6 hours of music streaming, and 9.2 hours of navigation. The phone also offers reverse charging capabilities.
Vivo emphasizes the Y05’s durability, highlighting its SGS-certified drop resistance and IP65 rating for dust and water resistance. The device is also MIL-STD-810H compliant, indicating it has undergone rigorous testing for resilience. The phone is available in Platinum Black and Dark Black color options.
The Y05’s battery health is projected to last for five years, supported by high-density components and intelligent software algorithms designed to maintain battery stability and longevity. Pricing and specific availability details beyond Malaysia and Saudi Arabia have not been disclosed.
