Refuse e-parking, threaten to break Bobby Nasution’s neck
“This is what Mr. Bobby ordered,” said the parking attendant in the video.
“Yes, you call Mr. Bobby here, let me break Mr. Bobby’s neck all at once,” threatened the man.
From Kompas.com’s monitoring, until Sunday (4/24/2022) at 15.33 WIB, the video has received 3,126 likes and 558 comments.
Like what actually happened, who was the man who threatened Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution?
Information from the Medan City Transportation Agency
The Head of the Parking Division of the Medan Transportation Service (Dishub) Nikmal Fauzi Lubis confirmed the incident that went viral on social media.
According to Nikmal, the incident occurred on the edge of Jalan Rahmadsyah, Medan City at around 15.30 WIB on Saturday, April 23, 2022.
Nikmal explained the initial chronology was that the man in the video refused to pay e-parking by cashless or not using cash.
“So the parking attendant explained to the driver not to use cash to pay for parking, now the driver seems to object,” Nikmal said when contacted. Kompas.comSunday (24/4/2022).
The parking attendant kept trying to suggest the car driver to pay using e-toll, but the driver still refused.
Threatening parking attendant
After refusing to make payment, the driver then threatened to break the necks of Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution and the parking attendant who was on duty at the time.
“But the driver refused to pay cashless and said he wanted to break Mr. Wali’s neck,” he said.
After the incident, the Medan City Transportation Agency officer reported the incident to the Medan City Police.
Nikmal said that until now the case is still in the development stage at the Medan City Police.
“Perhaps based on this, from our monitoring, it is suspected that he is not from North Sumatra from his accent and license plate,” he said.
He regretted the incident. According to him, it is inappropriate for someone to refuse by cursing or even threatening.
“In our opinion, words like that are very regrettable, because we as eastern people should be able to avoid cursing, let alone leading to threats like that,” he explained.
Medan City e-parking rules
Nikmal explained that the City of Medan had already implemented e-parkiring in several roads by implementing a system cashless since 2021.
“E-parking it starts from 2021. But only within the limits of a few roads and we continue to develop this,” he said.
Parking payments can be made through several applications such as OVO, Wallet, Dana, and so on, and also supported by e-toll with Brizzi.
The classification of street parking classes in Medan City is divided into two, namely Class 1 and Class 2. This difference depends on the strategic level of the road location.
“So why do we make class 1 (road sections) more expensive than class 2, that’s one of the indicator factors so that people don’t park in class 1 so it doesn’t cause traffic jams or chaos,” he said.
The following are the rates e-parkiring Class 1 and 2 classification roads in Medan City:
- Wheel 4: IDR 3,000
- Wheel 2: IDR 2,000
- Wheel 4: IDR 2,000
- Wheel 2: IDR 1,000
Parking rates are flat.
