‘Arrest Vijay’ demand Trends on Twitter as Tamil Nadu Rally Stampede Death Toll Reaches 31
Karur,Tamil Nadu – Twitter is flooded with calls for teh arrest of actor-politician Vijay following a deadly stampede at his election rally in Tamil Nadu’s Karur district on Saturday,september 27. The death toll has risen too 31, with numerous others injured, according to the latest reports from ANI. Harrowing images from the scene depict a massive, overcrowded gathering.
The chaos unfolded during Vijay’s campaign event, where a large crowd reportedly became panicked, leading to the stampede. Attendees had reportedly fainted due to the intense heat adn long wait, with some rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment. Sources indicate the overcrowding at the venue was a primary trigger for the incident.
Social media users are expressing outrage and demanding accountability. “The brutal incident that happened due to Vijay’s delay, despite him saying he would come at 12 o’clock. Oh police, stop fooling around and arrest vijay,” one user tweeted.
Another post drew parallels to past incidents, stating, “I didn’t want to say this time but I have to remind you – 40+ lives lost in a #stampede at actor #Vijay’s rally in Karur, including kids. When RCB’s party saw chaos, some CSK fans were crying ‘Arrest Virat Kohli’. So by that same logic should Vijay be arrested too?”

During the rally, Vijay paused his speech after reports of people fainting surfaced. Despite the escalating situation, he briefly resumed his speech before abruptly ending it, recognizing the dangerous conditions.
Tamil Nadu’s Chief Minister stated the news from Karur was “worrying” and has directed Ministers Ma Subramanian, Anbil Mahesh, and the District Collector to provide immediate support to those affected.
Vijay is the founder of the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) party.the incident is currently under examination.
