Vietnam Research: Lung Cancer Vaccine Production & Cancer Treatment Advances

Vietnam Prioritizes Lung Cancer Vaccine Research as Part of National Biotechnology Push

Hanoi, Vietnam – Vietnam has identified research and production of vaccines against lung cancer as one of four key priorities in its expanding biotechnology and regenerative medicine sector. The initiative includes technology transfer from Russia to facilitate vaccine development, aiming to bolster the immune system’s ability to fight the disease.

Alongside the lung cancer vaccine effort, Vietnam is investing in research cooperation and technology transfer for CAR-T cell therapy – a promising cancer treatment involving immune cells engineered to attack cancer cells – as well as pilot programs utilizing mesenchymal stem cell therapy for conditions like cerebral palsy, autism, and chronic diseases. Further research will explore personalized 3D printing for trauma treatment and cancer-related reconstructive surgery.

Experts explain the cancer vaccines function by introducing cancer-specific antigens to the body. These antigens, found on the surface of cancer cells but not healthy cells, signal the immune system to identify and destroy cells bearing them.

This focus on advanced medical technologies signals a national commitment to improving cancer treatment options, particularly for patients who do not respond to conventional therapies.
