Veruela offers this weekend dramatized routes and a musical show inspired by Bécquer

Both initiatives are inspired by Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer and the experiences that the famous writer had in this emblematic place on the slopes of Moncayo.

The dramatized routes will begin on July 3 and will take place every weekend of the month with the Los Navegantes theater company. They will start at 6.30 pm and are included in the entrance to the monastery.

However, the organization warns that it will be necessary to reserve a place since the capacity is limited to 20 people. It can be done by calling 976 64 90 25 or by sending an email to ‘’.

During the approximately 60 minutes that each route lasts, visitors will discover how Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer’s life was inside the monastery at the hands of the protagonist himself.

On the other hand, this Sunday, July 4, Veruela will host ‘My last legend’, a literary-musical show that also pays tribute to Bécquer. The musical is in musical compositions by Albéniz, Turina, Granados, Falla, Berdejo, García Abril and Sánchez.

It is based on an original story in which the soul of Bécquer is located, after his death, back in the monastery of Veruela where he found peace. There he will live in his cell, he will walk through the places that inspired the most beautiful verses and together with the monks, from vespers to compline, he will try to write his ‘Last Legend’, the most beautiful.

The mezzo-soprano Beatriz Gimeno will be able to voice this literary-musical show, in which she will be accompanied by the cello of Elva Trullén, with José María Berdejo on piano and under the direction and narration of Mayte Salvador.

The performance will begin at 12.30 pm and admission will be completely free, so all visitors will be able to access the concert until the capacity is completed.
