Veda Ega Pratama Eyes US Success After Historic Moto3 Brazil Podium
Indonesian rider Veda Ega Pratama achieved a historic milestone on Sunday, March 22, 2026, securing a third-place finish in the Moto3 race at the Autódromo Internacional Ayrton Senna in Brazil. This marks the first time an Indonesian rider has reached the podium in a Grand Prix-level race, according to reports from ANTARA News and Tempo.co English.
The 20-year-old Pratama, hailing from Wonosari, followed up a fifth-place finish at the season-opening Moto3 race in Thailand with his podium performance in Brazil. He now sits third in the Moto3 championship standings with 27 points after two races, as reported by detiksport.
“Yes, of course, I will attempt my best, I will do my best in the next race,” Pratama said after the race. “And yes, that will be a fresh circuit for me, but I have confidence since this week I was able to fight for the front group and maybe I will improve the mistakes I made this week and try to be better in America next week.”
Pratama’s success comes as other Indonesian riders have faced challenges in the early stages of the 2026 Moto3 season. According to harianfajar, Uriarte and Hakim Danish have yet to match Pratama’s pace in the first two races.
The Moto3 series now moves to the Circuit of the Americas (CotA) in Austin, Texas, for a race scheduled for the coming weekend. Pratama acknowledged that the CotA will be a new track for him, but expressed optimism based on his recent performance in Brazil.
