Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan have formalized a strategic alliance, signing a Treaty on Eternal Friendship in Tashkent to anchor a goal of $1 billion in bilateral trade.

The economic roadmap follows the 15th meeting of the Uzbekistan–Azerbaijan Intergovernmental Commission and the inaugural session of the Business Council. According to the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade (MIIT), bilateral trade turnover reached $307.2 million in 2025, marking a 14.6% year-on-year increase. Data from the same ministry confirms that growth accelerated further, rising nearly 40% between January and May 2026.
