Wall Street’s major stock indexes closed lower at the close of trading on Monday.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average finished the trading session down 482.78 points, or 1.4%, to reach 33947.10 points.
The broader Standard & Poor’s 500 index lost 72.86 points, or 1.8%, to 3998.84 points.
The Nasdaq composite index for technology stocks fell 221.56 points, or 1.9%, to 11,239.94 points.
