US Approves Ukraine Attacks on Russian Territory

U.S. Shifts Stance, Permits ukraine to Strike Deep Inside Russia

Washington D.C. – The United States has reportedly granted Ukraine permission to utilize American-supplied weapons for strikes targeting military assets within Russian territory,a notable policy change intended to bolster Kyiv’s defense capabilities amid ongoing conflict. This decision, confirmed on May 31, 2024, reverses previous restrictions that limited Ukraine’s use of U.S. weaponry to within its internationally recognized borders.

The policy shift arrives as Ukraine continues to develop its own long-range capabilities, currently relying on allied-supplied arms for deep strikes. These attacks often necessitate approval from the supplying nation. The move aims to provide Ukraine with greater strategic flexibility in countering Russian military operations and potentially disrupting supply lines.simultaneously, former President Donald Trump has indicated a willingness to consider providing Ukraine with Tomahawk cruise missiles, a development that could substantially enhance Ukraine’s long-range strike capacity.

Retired Lieutenant General H.R. McMaster’s former National Security Advisor, Kellogg, observed that Russian forces are still attempting offensives along the front lines, but achieving only marginal gains at a ample cost in personnel and equipment. “Russia does not win this war,” Kellogg stated. “If she won,she would be in Kiev,Odessa, she would cross the Dnieper River.”

The decision to allow strikes inside Russia reflects a growing assessment within the Biden governance that Ukraine needs to be able to defend itself more effectively against Russian aggression. While the White House has not publicly detailed the specific parameters of the new policy, officials have emphasized that the authorization is limited to strikes against military targets directly involved in attacks on Ukraine.

The potential delivery of Tomahawk missiles, should Trump authorize it, would represent a further escalation of U.S. support for Ukraine.these missiles possess a range of up to 1,000 miles and could allow Ukraine to strike targets far beyond the immediate front lines. The ongoing conflict, now in its third year, has resulted in tens of thousands of casualties and widespread destruction, with no immediate end in sight.
