Turnstile Draws 60,000 Fans to Washington Monument
Turnstile drew an estimated 60,000 fans to the Washington Monument on Saturday, October 24, 2026, for a free benefit concert that surpassed its original fundraising goals by more than $120,000. The Baltimore hardcore band partnered with Human Concern International to stage the outdoor event on the National Mall, closing out the latest leg of their Never Enough Tour while directing relief funds toward Palestine, Sudan, and Lebanon.
Surpassing Fundraising Goals at the National Mall
When the band initially announced the open-air gathering earlier in October, organizers set a target of $100,000 for international humanitarian relief. By Sunday following the show, donations had climbed past $220,000. Hassan Wadi, Global Director of Human Concern International, noted that the funds will supply food, water, medical care, and shelter to families across the three targeted regions.
The staging carried deep personal and regional significance for frontman Brendan Yates. Growing up in nearby Burtonsville, Maryland, Yates told The Washington Post that the local area formed the foundation of the band’s roots. Despite spending the preceding day icing an injured ankle after weeks of touring, Yates led the group through a 19-song, 75-minute set that featured tracks such as “Real Thing,” “Mystery,” “HOLIDAY,” “BLACKOUT,” and “NEVER ENOUGH.” Midway through the performance, Yates thanked the assembled crowd before leading a chant of “Free Palestine! Free Sudan! Free Lebanon!”
Turnstile Follows Punk Tradition with National Mall Concert
Saturday’s gathering drew historical parallels to the Washington Monument free concerts staged by Fugazi during the 1990s, cementing a lineage of punk and hardcore acts utilizing the National Mall for large-scale public events. The milestone arrives during a high-profile stretch for Turnstile. Earlier in 2026, the group collected its first two Grammy Awards, including Best Rock Album for Never Enough, followed by a musical guest appearance on Saturday Night Live where they performed “Birds” and “I Care / Dull.”
The band’s touring schedule also encompasses a sprawling collaborative release titled Never Enough: Versions. That project features reworked tracks with contributions from artists including Elton John, Hayley Williams, Blood Orange, and Julien Baker, among others.

Upcoming Festival Appearances
While the Washington Monument performance marked the conclusion of the second leg of the Never Enough Tour, Turnstile’s live schedule remains active through the end of the year. The band is confirmed to appear at Tyler, the Creator’s Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival in Los Angeles in November, with additional routing already secured for Primavera Sound’s 2027 bill.
