UC Berkeley Prepares for Turning Point USA Event Amid Heightened Security Concerns
BERKELEY, Calif. – UC Berkeley is bracing for a Turning Point USA (TPUSA) event Monday at Zellerbach Hall, designated a “major event” triggering increased security measures. The event carries significant weight, marking two months since the death of TPUSA founder Charlie Kirk, and will serve as the final stop on the organization’s campus tour.
The event, originally planned with Kirk as the speaker, is now being held in his honor. John Paul Leon, president of Berkeley’s Turning Point chapter, noted the profound shift in atmosphere since Kirk’s death. “It’s changed dramatically, of course, as the assassination of Charlie Kirk,” he stated.
