Turning Point USA Event at UC Berkeley Sparks Security Concerns and Protests

UC Berkeley Prepares for Turning‍ Point USA‌ Event Amid Heightened Security Concerns

BERKELEY, Calif. ⁣ – UC Berkeley is bracing ​for a Turning Point ‌USA (TPUSA) event Monday at‌ Zellerbach Hall, designated a “major event” triggering increased security measures. The event carries⁢ significant weight, marking two months since the ‍death⁢ of TPUSA founder Charlie Kirk, and will serve as⁢ the final stop‌ on the organization’s campus tour.

The event, originally ‍planned with Kirk as the speaker, is now being held in his honor. John Paul Leon, president⁢ of Berkeley’s Turning Point chapter, noted the profound‍ shift in atmosphere since Kirk’s death. “It’s changed dramatically,‌ of course, as the assassination of Charlie Kirk,” he stated.
