Former President Donald Trump is scheduled to visit Rome, Georgia, on Thursday, February 19, as early voting continues in the special election for the state’s 14th Congressional District, according to multiple news reports.
The visit to Rome, located within the district, comes after former Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene vacated the seat in January, triggering the special election. Eighteen candidates are competing to fill the vacancy, with the possibility of a runoff election on April 7 if no candidate secures a majority of the vote, as reported by FOX 5 Atlanta.
President Trump’s appearance coincides with the early voting period, which began on February 12, and aims to influence voters in the Republican primary. Spectrum News reported that the former president intends to discuss affordability and the economy during his visit.
Local 3 News and WTVC confirmed the Thursday visit, noting its timing alongside the ongoing early voting process. The 14th District encompasses a largely conservative area of northwest Georgia.
