Jimmy Kimmel Highlights Reports of Trump‘s fatigue, Mocking Cabinet Meeting and Truth social Activity
LOS ANGELES, CA – Late-night host jimmy Kimmel used his monologue on Monday to lampoon recent reports detailing apparent signs of fatigue in President Donald trump, referencing a White House cabinet meeting earlier in the day where Trump appeared to struggle to stay awake. The segment followed a night of prolific posting on Trump’s social media platform, Truth Social, and a New York Times article raising concerns about the president’s age and stamina.
Kimmel’s commentary comes amid increasing scrutiny of Trump’s energy levels as he campaigns for reelection. The New York Times report detailed observations of Trump, 79, exhibiting “signs of fatigue” as he navigates the demands of the presidential race. The Trump campaign has disputed the article’s claims.
During the cabinet meeting, various officials offered praise for the president, while Trump reportedly appeared drowsy. Kimmel seized on this, quipping, “Tell us again how sleepy Joe is, will you?” he then noted Trump’s extensive activity on Truth Social, where the former president posted over 160 times the previous night, promoting conspiracy theories, criticizing opponents, and praising himself and former First Lady Melania Trump. “Of course, he’s tired. He was up all night posting when he wasn’t sleeping,” Kimmel said. “Do you know how long you have to be on the toilet to post that much? I mean, what is he eating?”
Kimmel continued his critique by characterizing Trump’s cabinet as sycophantic, stating, “Trump’s hand picked orange-nosers gathered to pay tribute to dear leader and to suckle upon his ample teat.” He then highlighted several controversies surrounding members of Trump’s governance, including Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s involvement in a “sexy drug scandal,” the actions of a Secretary of War allegedly “murdering unidentified civilians,” and reports of FBI Director using a private jet for personal travel. “Thay have better quality cabinets at IKEA,” Kimmel concluded.
