BAD HERSFELD, Germany – A 56-year-old truck driver was taken into custody on Monday afternoon, October 23, 2023, after reports of erratic driving on the A4 motorway. according to police reports, the driver was observed weaving across lanes while traveling westbound.
Authorities received multiple calls from concerned motorists around 3:30 p.m. detailing the dangerous behavior. A highway police patrol based in Bad Hersfeld located the tractor-trailer near the Kirchheimer Dreieck and safely brought the vehicle to a stop at the Rimberg parking lot.
Suspected Intoxication and Detention
Upon initial interaction, officers suspected the driver was operating the vehicle under the influence of alcohol. He was immediately detained and a blood test was administered to determine his blood alcohol content, as per standard procedure.
