Yared Nuguse and Gracie Morris Claim Victories in American Sweep at New Balance 5th avenue Mile
NEW YORK – Yared Nuguse and gracie Morris delivered dominant performances, leading an American sweep at the New York Road Runners-hosted New Balance 5th Avenue Mile on sunday, September 10, 2023. Nuguse finished with a winning time of 3:48.8, while Morris secured the women’s title in 4:16.8.
The New Balance 5th Avenue Mile, the shortest race distance offered by New York Road Runners, showcased a diverse field ranging from elite athletes to community runners. This year’s event underscored the organization’s commitment to fostering a love for running across all ages and abilities, offering specialty heats alongside the professional races. The results highlight the growing strength of American middle-distance running and NYRR’s role in cultivating talent,from youth programs to world-class competitions.
Beyond the professional athlete races and the popular Broadway mile, the event featured a variety of specialty heats.
