FREDERICKSBURG, VA – The Salisbury University women’s soccer team suffered a 3-0 defeat to the University of Mary Washington Eagles on Wednesday afternoon.
Despite a strong showing in goal from goalkeeper Riley Kinzeler, who recorded eight saves, the Sea Gulls were unable to contain the Eagles’ attack. Mary Washington scored three goals in the first half and maintained the lead throughout the remainder of the contest. Kinzeler made a save early in the game, but the Eagles responded with three goals before halftime. She continued her strong performance in the second half, making five additional stops in a scoreless frame.
The loss drops salisbury’s record to [record not provided in text]. The Sea Gulls will look to rebound on Tuesday, October 3, when they travel to Haverford, Pennsylvania, to face Haverford College. Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m. at Walton Field.
