Women’s Snooker Expands ⁤wiht Two New RankingTournaments

Bangkok & Dublin – The World Women’s Snooker (WWS) tour is expanding it’s competitive ​landscape with the ‌addition of two new ranking tournaments: the Niche Cues Women’s Snooker Open in Thailand and⁣ the Irish​ Women’s Snooker Open. These additions mark a meaningful step forward for the sport,offering increased opportunities for female‌ players and broadening the global ⁣reach of women’s snooker.

Historically, the women’s ranking tour⁢ has experienced fluctuations sence its establishment in the 2016/2017 season, with a ⁣core of the UK championship, the Masters, and the ​World ​Championship⁤ supplemented by tournaments that have been added and removed over‍ time. Unlike the ⁣men’s tour, women’s ranking events were entirely suspended during the Covid-19 pandemic. ‌The 2021/2022 season saw ‍a resurgence with at least six tournaments, a number‍ that continues to grow.

The Niche⁣ Cues Women’s Snooker Open, taking place in Thailand at the end of October, represents the first WWS ranking⁢ tournament in Asia outside of the World Championship. Following closely, the Irish Women’s Snooker Open will be held in Ireland at the end of november. ⁢

Both tournaments will feature side ⁣events for under-21s and over-40s players, fostering development across all age groups. registration for the Women’s snooker Open is currently open, ⁢with details regarding draws and schedules to be announced ‌on the SnookerPRO website: ⁤ https://snookerpro.de/turniere/womens-snooker-open-2025/ and https://snookerpro.de/turniere/irish-womens-snooker-open-2025/.

While only six tournaments⁢ are ‍currently listed for the season,​ further dates will be‌ announced by WWS and subsequently updated on SnookerPRO.
