Ukraine‘s Ambassador Stefanishyna Emphasizes Support for U.S. Peace Efforts, Highlights Importance of Justice
Washington D.C. – Ukraine’s Ambassador to the United States, Olga Stefanishyna, affirmed her country’s support for President Trump’s efforts to achieve peace in Ukraine, emphasizing the critical role of U.S. commitment in ending the ongoing conflict with Russia. Speaking recently, Ambassador Stefanishyna underscored Ukraine’s dedication to a resolution rooted in fairness and justice.
Just months into her role, Ambassador Stefanishyna brings a wealth of experience to the position, previously leading Ukraine’s integration efforts with NATO and the European Union, and also involvement in negotiations surrounding a U.S.-Ukraine mineral deal. She expressed gratitude for the prospect to serve during this pivotal moment, stating her past experiences have prepared her for the challenges ahead.
“I am a person who is on a specific mission to serve the country at war,” Stefanishyna stated. “And I’m arriving to the country where yoru president has made a personal commitment to end the war in my country. and whatever I can do here to be of service to this purpose…is reducing the capability of the aggressor to destroy our cities and kill our people.”
ambassador Stefanishyna highlighted the significance of Ukraine’s resilience in maintaining global stability, and expressed confidence that President Trump’s involvement could provide crucial momentum towards a lasting peace. She stressed that any potential agreement must prioritize justice and fairness.
The Trump administration has recently proposed a 28-point plan aimed at resolving the conflict, which includes offering Ukraine security guarantees while potentially allowing Russia to retain control of some occupied territories. Ambassador Stefanishyna affirmed Ukraine’s willingness to work with the U.S. on this plan,stating,”I think this is a very solid ground. And, we are not only acting in a, in a good faith…But now the commitment of the President of the united States is something that could really bring so much purpose in all of that. So whatever could be done to back up his efforts should be done.”
