U-Next Secures LPGA⁤ Tour ⁣Rights in major Golf‍ Expansion

Japanese streaming⁣ service U-Next has significantly expanded its golf portfolio with a new ​agreement to‍ broadcast the LPGA⁤ Tour and women’s major championships, adding to existing rights including coverage of the PGA Tour, DP world Tour, and the new TGL series co-founded by Rory McIlroy and​ Tiger Woods. ⁣

The deal underscores U-Next’s commitment to becoming a central hub for golf fans in Japan, capitalizing on the rising popularity of Japanese players ⁣on the international stage. To accommodate its growing golf content, ⁢U-Next has launched ​the “World Golf Pack,” a new subscription bundle priced at 2,600 yen per month ($16.70) offering on-demand access ⁣to archived tournaments and live coverage of major tour events.

“In ‍recent years, the ⁤world of women’s golf has seen⁣ a ⁢surge in talented and popular players from Japan taking to the world stage,” said Tenshin Tsutsumi, president and chief executive ‍of U-Next. “We will do ‌our utmost to share the stories of Japanese athletes taking on‍ the world stage,and also the appeal of the ​LPGA Tour,the world’s highest ⁣level of ​women’s golf.”

The acquisition effectively consolidates coverage of nearly all major global golf tours and ⁤tournaments on ​the U-Next platform, positioning the streaming service as a key ⁤player in the Japanese sports broadcasting market and aiming to‌ further develop‌ the sport’s fanbase within ⁢the country.
